I had a generally positive experience with the staff during my regular eye exam. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The service was efficient, and the doctor was approachable, answering all of my questions with patience and clarity. For a routine eye exam, I would easily give 5/5 stars.

However, my experience with contact lens training was less than ideal. I’ve been wanting to try contacts for some time but have always been intimidated by them. I finally worked up the courage to give it a try, though I was understandably nervous. The contact lens trainer, while knowledgeable, unfortunately made me feel uneasy during the training process. Her words came across as condescending and harsh every time I messed up, which left me feeling overwhelmed and more anxious about trying the contacts. I ended up having to leave because I was experiencing a panic attack.

I understand that this might not have been her intention, and perhaps my sensitivity played a role. However, as a first-time contact wearer, I felt that the trainer was not well-equipped to handle someone who was nervous or inexperienced. She clearly knew the technical aspects of the process, but I believe a more patient, empathetic approach would have helped me feel more comfortable. It’s important for a trainer to adjust their approach to the individual needs of the person they’re guiding.

While I would recommend this office for standard eye exams or for those who feel confident about contacts, I would encourage the staff to consider offering more supportive and reassuring training for first-time contact users. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I’m hesitant to return.

What a wonderful experience! I was a little worried because of other reviews, but I’m so glad I went for it! When I arrived, I was promptly greeted and checked in. I was told where I could sit and within 2 minutes, I had my eye imaging done. The doctor was a little backed up (no problem, I get I happens), and the staff even encouraged me to start looking at glasses to pass the time. The doctor was really nice and listened to me as we worked through my proper glasses and contact prescriptions. Afterwards, the sales person (I can’t remember his name right now so sorry!), was so chill and helpful with figuring out my insurance options. I didn’t feel pressured and was able to explore the glasses options - when I was ready, he already had my prescription printed and waiting for me, and he looked through my chart to see what I had on my current glasses (from a different visionworks) to add to my new glasses. He was so, so nice and relatable! Overall, this was a great experience so far!

Barbara was an extremely nice, thorough and accommodative. I switched benefit providers recently, and she went to great lengths to make sure I was well looked after. You don’t find that level of customer service much these days, and I truly appreciated the help I received from her.

Optometrist experience was great. A person accosted us in salesman type demeanor (later turned out he was the store GM) for glasses after we came out from the Optometrist office. We said we will come back later, on a weekend. We requested for PD measurements (that they had always given us in previous years), this person refused citing liability issues and saying people buy online. We get one pair from the store (frame covered by insurance) and then online as needed for replacement or additional pair. This was the first time store had an issue with this PD request. We have had our last exam at VisionWorks. Other staff were fine though.

If I could I would give zero stars I came in with an eye problem and upon check in. I came across a very rude unpleasant person. He was more worry about how much it was going to cost me then my problem which I don’t have a problem paying due to not having insurance but he insisted on just saying it’s gonna be expensive. Which again I don’t care I CAN pay, to the point where I said you no what never mind I ended up leaving and went somewhere else. Next time care about the people who come in and maybe help them give them options instead of making them feel discriminated because of not having insurance.

So slow terrible service. Wrong script, so hard to reach, took 30 mins to return WRONG contacts. And now they want to see my for a 3rd(!) time to release correct script. I’m out a lot of time and money and am just going to use an online vendor going forward. Avoid! The KOP location is better, not great.

I'm very disappointed with this place and will never come back. I came to get my vision checked and they remarked that the glasses I had before was poorly made. So trusting their assessment, I order new glasses for hefty price. Less than 6 months later the left hinge of the frame broke even though I wore it only twice per week. It seems like a manufacture defect because I didn't drop it or apply any stress on the hinges. So I came back expecting to have it repaired with no cost or a small sum of money only to be told I have to order new frame for another hefty price... They said I had no warranty. Strange...all the other places I go to would have fixed it with no charge if it broke less than 6 months. So I decided to repair it myself with some wires I had at home, there is no way I am paying for new POOR quality frames. Month later the same thing happen on the right hinge with the same exact problem. This confirms that the problem is the way the frame was manufactured... It's funny that I was told that my previous glasses were of poor quality which lasted for years while the ones I got from this place lasted no more than 6 months. I am glad I didn't waste my money getting new ones from this place. And I will be going somewhere else to get glasses.
