The Thirsty Lion (Desert Ridge Marketplace location)

From the moment we walked up, we had a great experience. The hostess actually opened the door for us and got our group seated right away—super friendly vibe from the start.

Our server was awesome—introduced himself, took our drink orders right away (we had a few beers and some soft drinks), and stayed on top of everything without being overbearing. He checked in before the food came out and even helped deliver it with another staff member.

We started with the edamame appetizer, which was fresh and delicious. I had the jalapeño burger—huge, juicy, and full of flavor. Another person in our group ordered the steak, and it came out cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.

Service stayed solid the whole time—our server checked in during the meal, and both he and the hostess thanked us as we were leaving.

The only small downside was that the neon “Thirsty Lion” sign out front was partially illuminated—some letters were off—which made the place look a little less inviting from the outside. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

Overall though, great food, great service, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely planning to come back!

Our server was wonderful. Great energy and knowledgeable about the menu. The food, we went for specifically. I was craving crispy fish BAD. And we check this place and next door. Next door was way over expensive so we choice Thirsty Lion. The pricing is still a little on the higher median side (coming from a poorer perspective.) Their Battered Fish is soooooooo good. Flaky, crispy, fresh and tastes so clean. Their fries are also really great. They have that really good homemade ranch. Their burgers are also really nice. Juicy and flavorful. Great portion sizes. The scene itself is really nice. A little upscale but welcomes all I believe. Located in the desert ridge mall area. Parking is a little crazy as its right there with the mall. Otherwise very accessible. Comfortable. Great place overall.

Our bartender Kim was amazing! Drinks were on point and definitely got our moneys worth. She was friendly and very informative, we definitely will be back!

Had a great experience at Thirsty Lion overall! The sliders were a bit flat and not as juicy as usual during one visit, but the other six days we were here, they were absolutely excellent. The manager, David, was fantastic—came over to greet us and made everything right. Our waiter, Dillon, was outstanding, providing top-notch service with a great attitude. The beers were delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot, especially with Dillon serving!

This rating reflects our experience for dinner. Our waitress was as unfriendly as it comes. No smile. Very robotic and just going through the motions. She should not be working in an hospitality environment. My wife had the shrimp pad thai. After a few bites, she found a piece of plastic in the food. It was returned and she ordered a different dish. My reuben sandwich was a bit greasy, so were the french fries. Appetizers are relatively small and follow the disturbing trend of being overpriced and even more expensive than entrees. The manager came to apologize. My wife's dish was compted at the end. The entire experience was very disappointing. We had lunch there in the past and all was very good, including the service. The menu has a lot of choices. The restaurant is pretty loud and the decor is open and modern. We'll try lunch again but skip dinner.

The atmosphere here was a little lonesome for a Friday night. Kim though was exceptional, providing top-notch service with a friendly and attentive vibe that made us forget how quiet it truly was. If you come definitely ask for Kim. She made my late night Birthday dinner superb!!!
