We went to The Coal Bunker restaurant yesterday after our hike, and we were so surprised by how nice it was inside! The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were all super friendly and attentive. The sandwich I got was amazing...the bread was just perfect. My husband ordered a sandwich too and absolutely loved it. But the real winner was the mac and cheese! My daughter couldn’t get enough of it. She even asked for seconds and said, “This restaurant is in my top 5! Their mac and cheese is a 9.5 out of 10!” 🌟 Overall, we loved everything and had such a great time. We’re definitely coming back!☺️

Not sure this place has high reviews. The food was subpar, burger was bland and super greasy. Liked the home made ketchup, potato wedges(forgot what you called them), pickle was good but overall, appetizer and burger were 1/5 stars. 12 dollars for 5 small meatballs is crazy. For the future consumers add like 3 more meatballs or and a bit of seasoning in those burgers. (Idc if you get upset this is why they let us leave reviews)

Coalbunker is wonderful. Scratch-made deliciousness with great beverage (alcoholic and non alc) options. The chef team puts great care into their food - you won’t be disappointed with any items on the menu. I appreciate their scratch made ingredients and no seed oils. Also, they really support the community so it’s a win-win! The restaurant is in a cool historic building in downtown Fallbrook with cool train history too, so it’s a great vibe. Plus they have a great kids menu. Whether you live in fallbrook or are just passing thru, coalBunker won’t disappoint.

Highly Recommend: Beet & Goat Cheese Salad, Pesto Orzo (with sundried tomatoes, artichokes & feta), Bunker Balls (pork & beef meatballs in tangy sauce) & BBQ Bacon Ranch Burger. Large beer selection with many local options--even some hard ciders & kombucha! Service was amazing-answering all our questions & she offered great suggestions. Live music was advertised for upcoming evening. Relaxing atmosphere & comfy booth seating (tables available as well). As a former longtime FOH worker in restaurants, I had no critiques & am blown away by this gem in Fallbrook!

My tri-tip sandwich was amazing. The mac and cheese was also on the spot. I went at lunch time and it was very relaxed and not too crowded. I was seated and served right away, definitely recommend this spot.

Coal Bunker is always a go to when needing someone else to cook. The food and service is so consistent. The food is ridiculously good. You can play menu Roulette (close your eyes and randomly point to an item) and it will be the most delicious thing imagineable. The scratch made cooking is what sets this establishment apart. Everything taste so fresh. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's perfect for a quick bite, long conversation with a few drinks or just to order and take home when you need a quiet night. They also give back to the community. I often see the owners hanging out around the baseball fields running the snack bars and that makes me really happy.

Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and carefully. selected. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a great meal, this place delivers beyond expectations. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
