Pulpo offers a Latin inspired menu that leans into its Spanish and Portuguese counterparts. We dove heavily into the small plates portion of the menu and were not disappointed. Even the simplest of dishes boasted incredible flavors with a beautiful balance of richness and acidity. Delicious craft cocktails and wines. Attentive friendly service at the bar. I haven't been wowed by this level of food in Tampa Bay in awhile. Sprint, don't walk, to enjoy your next meal here. 🫶

I actually rate this just below a 5, it wasn't perfect but very good and we will return. Service was EXCELLENT

We had the Smoked Mussels Toast - this is 5+
Ropa Vieja Tacos - 5
Lunch Yuca - my husband loved these, they were a touch greasy for me
Duck Confit Empanadas - interesting to try and definitely recommend
Peruvian Ceviche - this was a 3 for me and husband didn't love. The bowl is too small to stir the serving and there was a flavor that hit me as stale. I did love the plantain chips

Our friends took us here while we were visiting in St. Pete for the weekend and it was incredible! It was incredible crowded so you can tell there is a lot of hype around this place, and I thought it lived up to it, our meal was excellent.

They’re a Latin style Tapas restaurant with a ton of different options, and it’s great for a group so you can try multiple bites. Some of the best we had were the Tuna Tostada, Yucca Fritta, Smoked Mussel Toast, Ceviche, Octopus, and the Pork Belly bites. Really you can’t go wrong with anything, we enjoyed it all. Our service was also amazing, and they have good cocktails to compliment the wonderful food. This is a must stop if you’re in St. Pete!

This is such a great new gem in St Pete!! The food was excellent, drinks were flavorful, and the atmosphere was very nice. Our server, Uriah, did such a great job to help provide for an amazing experience. We sat outside and the band was a nice touch.

First of all, the aura of the restaurant is really nice. The atmosphere, the people who come, and the service is just so great. Came here for lunch, Valentine’s Day dinner, and then lunch again. Ive been here three times in a span of two days. We got the meat skewers and requested to have one of the orders be only chicken. It’s so juicy and tasty. I normally hesitate when ordering chicken at restaurants because there’s almost always a weird chicken taste if you know what I mean. But the chicken skewers they had were SOOO juicy and good. The sauce that’s on top of the chicken was *chef’s kiss* incredible. The arugula salad was perfectly dressed. I also feel good after eating the food here because it’s not that heavy. I Absolutely recommend this place for anyone. Will be coming here often!! I wish I took photos before I ate some of the plates for reference. They give you a good amount of food.

Pulpo will need to do better if it will last in this market. I think they are too busy worrying about turning tables than quality of food. This is my opinion... the opinion of the table. Cold meals mean they were pre-prepard. Flavors - not developed for the price they are offered.

I arrived about 5 minutes before my party of 3 (with reservations), after being seated (they did not check for a reservation), the first thing I noticed was a huge chunk of fish under my chair/table. I said nothing.

Company arrived. We ordered drinks first, and then the plaintains. Just one glass of wine - generous pour! Plantains, garlic heavy, we're great. Alas, cold. Still, very enjoyable.

We asked about preparations, gluten intolenerances, flavor profiles et cetera. I ordered the scallops. My guests ordered the chefs catch of the day, a black grouper dish atop a black bean puree. Nowhere did the server say sweet in her explaination.

Chefs choice special turned out to be: Maple syrup sweet atop very "fishy" fish. The combination of flavors were a table-wide disgust. Especially with a black bean puree. One guest sent her back to be reheated. The mushrooms and greens were, literally, refrigerator cold.

My scallop dish - honestly, laughable, beyond the presentation. The sauce was a nice culmination of flavors. It was not anything I could have overcome in my kitchen with use of basic knowledge of spices and semi-basic cooking. 36 or 38 dollars.

Everything was very cold. We ate inside. The flavors did not mesh. Pulpo is new and exciting! The decor, vibe and service was great. We are not those to make a scene, did not ask to speak to a manager. But the server was well aware that we were not having a great experience - but did nothing. We are very nice people who very much so enjoy good food and experiences..

They just need time.

Pulpo has quickly become my favorite restaurant in Saint Pete, and for good reason. The addition of Latin cuisine to the neighborhood is a refreshing change, and Pulpo does it exceptionally well. I’ve worked my way through nearly half the menu, and every dish has been phenomenal. The ceviche is outstanding, the empanadas are probably my favorite, and the Ropa Vieja with fried plantains is absolutely delicious.

The cocktails are just as impressive—both in flavor and presentation. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ensures a great experience. Pulpo is the perfect spot to bring out-of-town friends when I want to show off some of the best food Saint Pete has to offer. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was classy but welcoming. The staff are amazing and make some bomb bomb drinks. There was live music that made me feel like I'm in Spain. It didn't break the bank, I definitely will come back.
