My companion and I have been on the Camino for several days now, and this has been our favorite accommodation so far. Perfectly located on a hill overlooking the beach/ bay. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable! Best of all, it was quiet at night. Not to mention the host was VERY KIND and very helpful. We will be staying here again in the future!

The ladies that run the hotel were very nice and very busy. They also run and serve at the restaurant/bar downstairs. Our room was at the end of the hotel corridor with windows that offer a beautiful view of the beach / ocean of Laredo. The room is utilitarian but clean and served it's purpose. The menu del dia offered downstairs wad a good value. A 15 minute walk down a clear path and then staircase leading into Laredo proper. Also, it was completely booked on the day we were there. They were turning people away.

For the price 50€ I had a super cold room, without heat, conditioner or even a hairdryer. That day I was 100% wet because of the rain.

In bathroom and in my bed I found at least 7 pieces of long hair. Seems like they didn’t change even the bedsheets.

They didn’t have any options for dinner in restaurant, but I figured out it just when went downstairs at 19:00.
Because in room I have a list with information about dinner at 19.
My delivery apps didn’t work, because I’m not Spanish. And nobody could help me because they don’t speak English.

So I had to go to sleep cold and without food.
Please be careful when book a room here.

But in the same time women who work there really nice and I’m really sorry what I have this kind of experience

It is a shame there are old reviews on here and they should be removed. |We stayed here this evening and the room was warm, very clean and comfortable, shower good and hot. Views from the hostel are great.|The ladies cooked us a lovely meal after we had a walk down into town.|This is a 1 star hostel and I think it is excellent if you want 5 star luxury then you will not be happy here. If you want good honest accommodation with nice food at a great price then this is it. Evening meals served 7-9pm breakfast from 8.30 (too late for us to try it). We will come again.

We stayed here one night and had a wonderful time. As stated by others, the hotel is old and on the highway, but we found it charming. It was clean. We had a balcony with two chairs and a table where we drank a bottle of wine and enjoyed the spectacular views. The Camino de Santiago runs right in front of the hotel, and we used it to walk through a beautiful neighborhood to the center of town. We ate in town and did not try the hotel food. Anabel arranged a cab for us to the bus station in the morning. All in all, a good time and unlike anywhere else we’ve stayed.

We needed a stopover after arriving in Santander and decided on El Carro. The place is old fashioned but it is spotlessly clean and very friendly. The food was delicious and the bill was small. Great value for money.

The Hostel has seen better days. The rooms are oldish. Wifi is free but extremely weak. Views are good but the highway in front of it noisy especially if you have a room in the front side.
Good points are the cuisine which is local and good value. The bar has a lot to offer. The cuisine closes at 9.30pm.
Paid 65€ for a room at weekend and 15€ for the menu del dia.
