As soon as you come through the door, you receive a beautiful greeting! Love that! Now, about the food…all I can say is delicious!! It was seasoned…no salt or pepper was needed! The portions were generous. The servers are all so kind and they make you feel welcome. We will return when in the area.

We were passing through Virginia and found one of the best places to eat. Meat loaf was the special of the day so we both ordered it. It is so special - best meat loaf ever. True home cooking. Wonderful service. Kira took great care of us. If you find yourself near Ashland, Virginia, Around the Table is an absolute MUST.

Around the Table Southern Food is the real deal! Came for the chicken livers (sold out, so next time), but the chicken & waffle special and BBQ pulled chicken sandwich more than made up for it. Sides were spot on — spoon bread, cabbage, collards, mac n’ cheese, and yams were all packed with flavor. Service was top-notch, food came out quick, and my waitress was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

First time visitors we are.
Located in Ashland, Va. Suggest not to use I-95N. Alternative route choices recommended. You never know how traffic will flow on I-95N due to lane closures.

The food is worth a second visit to the establishment, in our opinion. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty.

Not overly seasoned and filling. The whiting fish was lightly battered, crispy and non-fishy to the smell or taste. Cooked Perfectly.

Our waitress/ server was attentive and accommodating to the table's request.

One of the owners, Ammie, introduced herself. Made herself available to us should we needed anything.
That personal touch.

It was a wonderful experience.

PS. Everyone enjoyed. Was satisfied with their choices. Satisfied from eating. And could not eat it all in one setting.

Visiting from Philadelphia area and stumbled on this wonderful , casual restaurant with great food and generous portions. Everything we had was delicious! Catfish nuggets were especially good. The atmosphere was homey and not fancy but what really stood out was the friendly, welcoming staff. A receptionist with a beautiful voice sung a “Happy Birthday “ solo to a client which was enjoyed by the entire room. Having dinner here made my evening and restored my faith in humanity in these tumultuous times.

Hands down THE BEST place for
food for the soul!!!! The service is impeccable, the staff makes you feel like literal family the moment you walk in.
My teenage daughter and I went after reading the reviews. They were super busy that day so they sat us “family style” with another patron that was solo.
It ended up being the best lunch and the best conversation with a stranger, now friend. The vibe is so welcoming and the food is OUTSTANDING.
Treat yourself right and get Around the table!

This restaurant is a new favorite. I have yet to eat something from their menu that hasn't been fabulous. Their collards? Amazing! Catfish? Crispy and delicious. Don't get me started on the BBQ, because I won't look up until the plate is clean. Yes, it's that good. And if you go for your birthday, you have never heard such a full and beautiful voice singing to you. Wow! Have fun trying to decide between the ribs and chicken. Don't forget the fried okra. Did anyone say 6 stars? I sure would say so.

Great location with plenty parking. Was greeted very hearty from the owner when we entered the restaurant. Once seated it took our waitress 10-12 minutes before she took our drink order. My wife asked where was the bathrooms and she proceeded to the bathroom with a very quick return to the table stating that the bathroom was very filthy. I won't describe the condition of the bathroom to save anyone from getting sick. We placed our order which consist of Smothered pork chops, cabbage and okra. Also the seafood platter with Mac n cheese and yams. The servings was large but not seasoned very well. The Fish was so tuff that I actually had to saw it into pieces. The crabcake was burnt and tasted more like can mackerel. The Mac n cheese was subpar. The yams were baked sweet potatoes with a over amount of allspice. The corn bread tasted like jiffy mix that fell apart once I bit into it.
First time visiting and my last time leaving a reveiw.
